Your Life Matters to Me

I have found that depression stems from not being true to yourself. When you get off your path by trying to be something you are not, you deplete yourself energetically. In spite of what you may have been taught, you are meant to be guided by intuition and feelings. Your mind can then do its part to figure out how to bring your ideas and insights down to earth. When you stop trusting and using your intuition and feelings – what I call your internal GPS – your mind dominates. It is not meant to be working alone so it starts  working on auto-pilot, many times sending you into a tailspin of fear, negativity and depression.

By going within to discover you, you will start to see the light at the end of what might seem like a long dark tunnel. You have everything you need to become who you are meant to be. Life offers many opportunities to follow your path. Your job is to tap back into your intuition and feelings.

Obstacles let you know you are heading the wrong direction while feeling joy and a sense of purpose lets you know you are on track. Know yourself and you will discover that you have innate talents that contribute to the greater good. Your job is to discover who you are so you can be yourself and share your innate gifts with the world. When you do this you make the world a better place just by being you!

Follow Your Path...

Life is a Garden

Look at your life as a garden…full of things you have planted over the years. What starts out as seeds becomes something that nourishes you or takes life force from you. What thoughts, behaviors or habits have taken root and shown up in your life. Is there a common theme? What do you want to replace them with?

Some plants take root everywhere. The sooner you address the problem, the easier it is to clean up. The longer you wait the more they spread and become a part of your life. Look at your addictions. Do you see how rooted you are in certain behaviors or cravings?

Sometimes you can’t see the surface because of all the leaves and weeds covering the ground. So you take one step at a time:

  • Start by getting rid of what no longer serves you. Do this by clearing clutter in your home, yard or car. Clearing clutter clears energy.
  • Clear the clutter in your mind. Write whatever comes into your mind and let it go for the day. Now you have started to uncover the roots.

  • Write in a journal; first thing in the morning or last thing at night; one page to release and let go of unwanted thoughts and one to journal insights and encourage automatic writing.
  • Identify the roots so you can start focusing on letting go and releasing them. Many times one thought or behavior is part of a larger root system. Keep digging until you see the connections and the patterns created from long term growth.

In the garden, I discover I am not alone. Nature has an incredible life force that feeds me. When I am with her I hear and feel my female ancestors communicating with me. Showing me how to work with the earth, how to manifest with her and be full of my ‘self’. I feel complete and content. I know ‘why’ life is like a garden. The answers are all here…in the preparation of the soil, and planting of the seeds to create a bountiful harvest. We ARE Nature. What feeds her feeds us and vice versa.

You are not alone. We are all in this journey together. Say a prayer today to call upon your spirits guides, loved ones who have passed, Mother Nature, Father God, whomever it is for you that you want to help guide you in your journey. It is this relationship to self and God/Goddess that will guide you to your passion in life. You are a co-creator in your life. Take actions now to help you live a life you love…with passion.

As my Reiki master teacher Barbara Van Diest used to say, “The more shit you have had in your life the more fertilizer you have for a beautiful the garden.” Change your perspective and you will transform your life! I want you to live your life….when you are feeling down, remember that your life matters to me!

You are Here for a Reason

There is a reason why some of us are highly sensitive. If you have dealt with a lot of heart ache and difficult times, you are most likely one of the Change Makers. We came here specifically to plant seeds for a new way of being. It is not an easy job to bring about change as there are many on the planet who resist change.

If you feel like you don’t fit in….then guess what, you are one of us. Many people are feeling called from within to make changes in their lives right now….to discover more meaning in life. We are moving from the era of the mind into the era of the heart. I call us “The Bringers of the Heart.” When you learn to trust and follow your heart, your purpose calls you forward.

I want you to know that you are needed. I need you…your people need you and the world needs you to contribute what only you can contribute.

There were many times I wanted to exit this planet because I felt too confined and limited. I learned to look within for answers and I have been guided to discover some very incredible things. I love my uniqueness and what I have been able to create. I am like a detective discovering my life as I live each day. I invite you to discover yourself and share the innate gifts within you! And if you are already doing this…know that you are the inspiration for others to follow their path.

Bringers of the Heart

You are one of the Bringers of the Heart!

What no one tells you about suicide

We are spiritual beings within a physical body. Your body is temporary while your spirit is eternal. What you do while you are here has an impact on the development of your spirit, your environment and others. You came here with a purpose. Your job is to realize and fulfill your purpose.

If you cut your life short by committing suicide, you may think you are ending your pain….but that is not the case. I learned from my mother’s suicide that her spirit lived on and she was still in deep, deep pain. I could feel her presence for many years and she was still heavy with depression.

Your job is to discover yourself by working through the pain. Don’t give up. Don’t take yourself out. You are here for a reason and I want you to discover this for yourself. Once you dive into and through the pain there is light at the end of the tunnel. Winston Churchill had a quote that says it all, “If you are going through hell, KEEP GOING!”

What to say to someone contemplating suicide

I know that depression and suicide are not topics most people want to discuss …. however, this could be the most important conversation of your life. Your words could save a life.

The main thing to keep in mind is that everyone wants to know that their life matters. Whether it is a friend, family member, acquaintance or even a stranger, you can make a difference.

When someone is in distress, reach out to them. Ask, “Are you okay….can I help you?”

If you know a person is contemplating suicide, TALK to them about it! Don’t pretend it isn’t happening. Stand in front of them, look into their eyes. Ask, “Is this something you are thinking about or something you are planning?” Their response will determine the level of urgency you are dealing with.

Let them know how hurt or devastated you would be if they took their life.

Tell them, “Your life matters to me!” AND list the reasons why they matter to you. If they are someone you are close to, take away access to anything (especially guns) they could use in the heat of the moment to take their life. Stay with them if possible to provide comfort through a difficult time.

While you can only change or heal yourself, you just might be the one who helps someone decide to live another day. It is up to each of us to be kind and considerate to one another. We are one family. Each life lost to suicide affects us all. You never know when your kindness and encouragement will save a life.
